About me

Jade is a German-Chinese writer/director based in London. She recently graduated from the National Film and Television School, where she studied on a full scholarship.
Her graduation film “Tremolo” received sponsorship by Kodak and was shot on 35mm. It tells the story of Victoria, a young Chinese violinist in London, who is haunted by the shadows of her past.

Jade began her film career at the prestigious Beijing Film Academy. During her time there, she worked for sinocom.tv as co-director on two feature documentaries focusing on Ai Wei Wei and Tibet respectively.

Whilst completing her Directing BA at the International Film School Cologne in Germany, her sci-fi comedy “Royal Affairs”, starring Kris Marshall, received special funding as flagship project for VFX and production design. “Royal Affairs” was screened on National Television and received an audience award at the Beijing Film Festival.

Her short film “Red Red Red”, a provocative exploration of femininity, was funded by the WDR and screened internationally, including Holly Shorts and Female Eye Toronto.

Jade draws inspiration from East-Asian aesthetics and psychedelic art, placing emphasis on elegant images and intriguing music.
